'He will play football again': Updated Texas A&M injury report ahead of the bye week

On Wednesday, amid Texas A&M's first of two bye weeks this season, second-year head coach Mike Elko spoke for the second and third time after the Aggies' massive 41-40 win over Notre Dame, making his weekly appearance on the SEC Teleconference, while making his way to the Houston Touchdown Club, greeted with applause from the Texas A&M alumni in attendance.

While Saturday's win, led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed's 360 yards passing and wide receiver Mario Craver's 207 yards receiving was the primary focus, the scary injury to senior safety Bryce Anderson was also a discussed topic during both appearances, as Elko revealed that while it's too early to tell when he'll return to the field, he will make his way back to the field sometime this season.

Two other injured players, senior linebacker Scooby Williams, who, after his critical interception against the Fighting Irish, left the game and did not return, paired with kicker Jared Zirkel, who did not appear in Saturday's game, while kicker Randy Bond hit three critical field goals, booting the game-winning extra point.

Regarding Williams' return status, it remains unknown. Still, we should have an update by next week during Elko's next media availability, which will take place before the team hosts the Auburn Tigers.

No. 10 Texas A&M will host No. 22 Auburn on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2:30 p.m. The game will air on ESPN.
