Swindon's Steam Museum is transforming into a Christmas wonderland with festive markets and activities.

The much-loved museum will host its annual Christmas extravaganza featuring more than 50 stalls and a wide range of live performances.

Taking place on December 6 and 7, the museum, which is known for its displays and iconic locomotives, will blend its historical charm with a Christmas atmosphere.

Santa will be present both days to hold story-time sessions in the museum's Hawksworth Hall.

Each session costs £10.50 per child, in addition to Christmas at STEAM admission, and promises a festive story plus a wrapped gift.

The festivities continue with a packed live entertainment schedule in the museum's Great Western Hall.

On Saturday children's performances start at 10.30am with Emily's Dance Academy and include a variety of acts such as Kentwood Choir, Gilmore n' Jaz, and Commonweal School.

Sunday's performers include Lydiard Park Academy, Harmonia, and SALTO!

The Christmas market stalls will offer everything from hand-crafted silver jewellery and glass artworks to Christmas tree decorations and luxury confectionery - promising a great shopping experience for unique gifts.
