Russian ambassador urges Moldova to address issues rather than 'raising protests' over every incident

Oleg Ozerov made these remarks after visiting Moldovan Foreign Ministry, where he was summoned to protest crash of alleged Russian drone in the country, reports media

The Russian ambassador in Chisinau has urged Moldova to address the arising issues professionally rather than filing protests after each incident.

Oleg Ozerov spoke with reporters after visiting the Moldovan Foreign Ministry, where he was summoned to protest the crash of an alleged Russian drone in the country on Tuesday, the Russian news agency Tass reported on Wednesday.

"These issues (regarding drones) should be handled by specialists, so we propose slightly changing the logic of our relations and breaking this vicious cycle of raising protests immediately after events occur," he said.

According to Ozerov, there are "many false-flag operations" and attempts to "damage relations" between Russia and Moldova, which are already "at their lowest point."

"We need, first and foremost, to establish a constructive dialogue to understand the true causes of what is happening," the diplomat urged.

Chisinau announced on Tuesday that it will summon Russia's ambassador to Moldova over what it described as a violation of its airspace.

The Moldovan Defense Ministry said in a statement that six drones were detected to have crossed into the country's airspace "without authorization" amid overnight Russian airstrikes in neighboring Ukraine.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry said that it "strongly condemned" the violation of its airspace by "several drones," including one that it said crashed in a locality in the country's northeastern Floresti district.
