A case has been registered against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly making controversial remarks related to mosques, officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to details, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad lodged the case on behalf of the state.
The FIR states that Suhail Afridi made inflammatory and objectionable comments regarding the tying of dogs in mosques.
The complaint named Sohail Afrid, son of Sattar, as the primary accused in the case.
The NCCIA report added that during the inquiry, serious allegations surfaced against the chief minister.
The Cyber Crime Wing said the shared material appeared to promote hatred, fear, and public disorder, leading to legal action.
Consequently, an FIR has been registered under Sections 11, 20, and 26-A of the PECA Act against him, following approval from higher authorities.
