Europe's AI unicorn Lovable rockets to $5B valuation at $100M ARR -- TFN

The European startup scene just witnessed another blockbuster moment. Swedish vibe-coding sensation Lovable is now valued at a staggering $5 billion, marking one of the fastest-growing companies in the continent's tech history.

Just weeks ago, the company attracted attention with offers valuing it at $4 billion, only shortly after its $200 million Series A, which pegged it at $1.8 billion. It looks like the momentum hasn't slowed since.

Super angel Alexandre Berriche, who backed Lovable during its pre-seed days, shared that investors are rushing to buy secondary shares at rising prices from $4 billion to $4.7 billion, and now $5 billion. That translates to a 100x return in under two years.

Lovable's rise speaks directly to a universal problem. The demand for digital tools, apps, and online services grows by the day, yet most people lack the technical skill or time to create them. Co-founders Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin, two Swedish engineers passionate about accessible technology, decided to fix that. Their answer was vibe coding, an intuitive platform where users describe what they want in plain language and instantly see fully functional software take shape.

Unlike traditional no-code solutions, Lovable automates the entire stack, from front-end, back-end, databases, and deployment, bridging the gap between idea and execution. The result is a tool that empowers individuals, startups, and enterprise teams.

Its unique blend of simplicity and power has created a new wave of proto-developers who use natural conversation to design, test, and deploy sophisticated products.

Lovable's climb from early-stage startup to global standout has been nothing short of meteoric. Backed by top investors such as Accel, Creandum, Visionaries Club, and tech heavyweights like Klarna's Sebastian Siemiatkowski and Slack's Stewart Butterfield, the company's growth mirrors Silicon Valley's finest.

The startup's viral growth metrics of over 10 million projects built, 30,000 paid subscribers, and rapid ARR expansion from $1 million to $100 million in under a year place it among Europe's elite. With a compact team of just 45 employees in Stockholm, Lovable combines lean execution with global ambition. Also, the company amassed over 2.3 million active users.

The challenge ahead lies in converting its freemium user base into strong enterprise relationships. If it succeeds, Lovable could redefine how the world builds software, making creation as intuitive as conversation.
