A mixed bag from the American. The late fumble made things nervier than they might have been but the smart stop from Wiles was arguably more important.
CYRUS CHRISTIE...7.
Rewarded his inclusion with a very steady performance on the right. Actually popped up in the Huddersfield box on a couple of occasions to fire efforts at goal.
EOIN TOAL...7.5.
Another very strong display from the Northern Irishman, who seems to be enjoying his football alongside Johnston at centre-half.
GEORGE JOHNSTON...7.5.
Came up with that crucial block on the line in the second half and defended stoutly against pretty much everything the visitors could throw at him.
RICHARD TAYLOR...7.
Scored the winning goal after a clever link-up with Dempsey. Worked well with Cissoko down the left and seems to be getting up to speed.
JOSH SHEEHAN...7.
Another sound performance. Controlled the first half completely and though the gaps started to open up either side of Taylor's goal, he kept things calm.
AARON MORLEY...6.5.
Put in a couple of stellar set pieces which should have been converted into goals. Had to work hard off the ball in the second half.
AMARIO COZIER-DUBERRY....6.5.
Came up with a few nice moments in the first 45 minutes but good to see Schumacher give him some rest in the end.
JOEL RANDALL...6.
Fired one shot on target and knitted things together quite well early on but got lost in the shuffle a little bit after the break.
IBRAHIM CISSOKO...7.5.
Such a bag of tricks and occasionally frustrating - yet this was his most effective game in a Bolton shirt so far. Deserved his goal.
SAM DALBY...6.
A lot of graft, not so much end reward. One of those days for the big striker who didn't have the most productive day.
Subs: Forss 66 (for Cozier-Duberry), Dempsey 67 (for Randall), Conway 82 (for Taylor), Osei-Tutu 82 (for Cissoko), Burstow 90+1 (for Dalby).
Huddersfield Town (4-2-3-1): Nicholls; Sorensen, Feeney, Low, Roosken; Gooch, Ledson; Harness, Wiles, Miller; Radulovic.
Subs: Vost 46 (for Gooch), Ashia 66 (for Wiles), Charles 66 (for Miller), Taylor 86 (for Harness).
A close call between Jonno, Eoin Toal and Ibrahim Cissoko, but the clearance on the line came at such an important point in the game that it gives him the edge.
It was telling that Steven Schumacher did not rotate his centre-halves, who have both been outstanding in the last two games.
MOAN OF THE MATCH - You would have liked a touch more ruthlessness in the first half when Huddersfield looked very vulnerable.
Bolton created chances and could have had the game won by half-time with some better finishing.
MAGIC MOMENT - The response from the home fans as Kyle Dempsey took to the pitch in the second half. So many are willing him on to stay fit and impact this season.
ATMOSPHERE - Very difficult to judge with only a couple of home stands open. Warmed up when Dempsey arrived in the second half but generally a fairly tepid affair.
