RICHLAND, Wash - Firefighters made quick work of a kitchen fire in Richland tonight (January 7).
Crews were called to the Riverpointe Apartments in the 2500 block of Duportail just after 9 p.m.
The fire on the second floor of a single apartment was extinguished quickly.
We spoke with a man who said he left a pan of hot oil unattended on the stove.
While he was away from the apartment, the tenant said the oil in the pan flared up.
Crews with Richland, Kennewick and Pasco fire responded. No word on the extent of damage or injuries.
