Nissan reveals first images of Gravite 7-seater people-mover | Network News

Nissan teases the Gravite compact people-mover ahead of its early 2026 India debut, promising practical seven-seat layouts.

Nissan has released teaser images of its upcoming Gravite compact people-mover. The Renault Triber-based Gravite is set to make its official debut in India early in 2026, and will be manufactured at Renault's Chennai plant in India, where the Triber is also produced. The Nissan Tekton, which is based on the Renault Duster, will follow as the second Indian-built product in the firm's lineup and is expected to be launched in mid-2026.

The Gravite will feature Nissan's latest design language. The teaser images show C-shaped accents on the front fascia, horizontal LED headlamps, and 'Gravite' lettering on the bonnet. At the rear, the C-shaped bumper trim matches the front fascia. 'Gravite' lettering can be found on the tailgate.

While the seven-seater's interior has yet to be revealed, though will likely mirror the Triber's, Nissan states that the modular seats are designed to offer increased practicality and space with variable layouts. Although Nissan hasn't released powertrain specifications, it is fair to assume the Gravite will employ the same engine options as its Renault sibling. As a reminder, locally, the latter is currently available with a single engine option - 52kW/96Nm 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder - and the choice of five-speed manual or automated manual transmissions.

Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe & Oceania) chairperson Massimiliano Messina said: "The upcoming lineup, shaped by global insights yet deeply attuned to the needs of Indian customers, reflects our commitment to this dynamic market. With new models developed in and for India, and exports to several international markets, India remains both a growth driver and a strategic hub for Nissan Alliance. The reveal of the Gravite demonstrates our continued momentum and reinforces our confidence in the road ahead."
