Josh Kattus is having career year in 2025

The Big Blue Nation always wants to see the Kentucky passing game feed the tight end. This has been a popular talking points at sports bars, in parking lots, and online ever since James Whalen earned first-team All-American honors in 1999 when he finished the year with 90 receptions for 1,019 yards and 10 touchdowns. That demand has not gone away nearly three decades later.

Kentucky fans are getting their wis this season. The passing game has produced 131 targets through five games this season. The tight end room owns a 26.7 percent target share. Josh Kattus has led the way during his senior season. The senior is having a career year.

We've seen Josh Kattus become a red zone target, a tight end who has created an explosive play touchdown out of play-action, and someone that can make competitive plays at the catchpoint. Kattus is having a career season and there are still seven more games to play. Meanwhile, Willie Rodriguez (9 receptions for 141 yards) and Illinois transfer Henry Boyer (1 reception for 13 yards) have also been active in the pass game.

Kentucky has become a 12 personnel offense under offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan. That is leading to some receiving production from the tight end room.
