Four suspects have been apprehended following the incident where images of United States President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto the walls of Windsor Castle.
The incident happened at the beginning of the US President's visit to the United Kingdom.
According to BBC, the men were arrested on charges of suspicion of malicious communications following the public stunt in Windsor that spread on social media platforms like wildfire.
Thames Valley Police reported the arrest of a 60-year-old from East Sussex, a 36-year-old and a 50-year-old from London, and a 37-year-old from Kent.
Authorities insisted that an investigation was currently underway after the officers swiftly put a stop to the unexpected projection.
This visit comes days after the dismissal of the UK ambassador to the USA. Lord Peter Mandelson was fired by the Prime Minister Keir Starmer due to his own association with Jeffrey Epstein.
President Trump had also been facing backlash since he maintained a friendship with Epstein during the 1990s and early 2000s. The 79-year-old has never been formally accused of any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Jeffrey Edward Epstein was an American financier who was convicted of child sex offenses. He was arrested in 2005 for the sexual abuse of minors and was convicted in 2008 as part of a controversial plea deal.
After a second arrest in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges, he died in his jail cell. His death was officially ruled a suicide, though this has been disputed by his lawyers and has led to public skepticism.
Donald Trump had arrived in London late on Tuesday and spent the night at the U.S. ambassador Warren Stephens' residence. However, the images of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein didn't stop there.
On the next morning, a vehicle was observed displaying an image of Trump and Epstein in Windsor, accompanied with the message, "Welcome to the UK, Donald."
People on social media had various reactions regarding the incident. SkyKing on Instagram wrote, "Got to love the Brits for this. "
Another Mevida added, "Who did this? Can we send them a thank you card?" Instagram user, Erin wrote, "Justice for the victims of sexual assault. The world is watching."
