LEGO James Bond Was Pitched By TT Games In Newly-Unearthed Trailer - PlayStation Universe

TT Games had pitched a LEGO James Bond game around the time that development was wrapping up on LEGO Dimensions, according to brief video showcasing the British spy in all his block glory.

The footage doesn't feature a huge amount of detail as it was only released as a pitch to gauge interest, but it's still interesting to see that TT Games was looking to adapt James Bond for the LEGO world.

There's a lot of recognisable scenes in the trailer, including the gun barrel introduction seen in all Bond films, Jaws pushing Bond out of a plane at the stat of Moonraker, Bond's car driving into the sea to escape a helicopter in The Spy Who Loved Me, as well as what appears to be the introduction scene from For Your Eyes Only. We also hear Roger Moore's Bond taken from the intro sequence to The Spy Who Love Me as he heads out on a mission.

The person who uploaded the trailer to YouTube commented:

This trailer got leaked surprisingly on my Discord server, and it's an official trailer cause literally everything that appears looks exactly as the previous trailer but with final designs. Possibly its [sic] on reddit but [I don't know] really.

For more context, LEGOGameMuseum expanded on the trailer, revealing that it wasn't pitched as part of LEGO Dimensions, but a full-fledged Bond LEGO game.

This wasn't actually for Lego Dimensions year 3 [as described in the reddit thread], it was produced as a pitch for The Lego Group to convince them to give the okay for a full game, it was made during the last year Dimensions was being worked on when TT knew Dimensions wouldn't get a third year of content. Once again, TLG decided Bond wasn't suitable, and vetoed the project. I think this has been found in the data of a Dimensions build, which is where the confusion is coming from.

As a huge James Bond fan, I love the idea of having the character get the LEGO treatment; it's a shame that it will probably never happen at this point!
