There are those who listen to music, and those who live it.. Robbie HNGVR, an artist from Cagliari with a punk soul and an electronic heart, undoubtedly belongs to the second category. His journey, which began in the makeshift studios and underground concerts of Sardinia, tells a story of passion, experimentation, and creative freedom.
From a very young age, Robbie immersed himself in the world of Italian hardcore punk, inspired by historic bands like Indigesti and Sottopressione. In those years, music wasn't just entertainment: it was a school of life. "The DIY"Doing everything myself taught me to build something I love from scratch," the artist often says. An approach that will also accompany him as he evolves towards new musical horizons.
From drums to bass, from rehearsals in the cellar to the first tours with the Rise After the Feet, the next step was natural: to discover the electronic music. There, Robbie found a personal creative space, where he could shape his ideas completely independently.
The adventure took a turn in 2016, when Angover moved to San Francisco. Thanks to the first contacts with the label Muti Music, he began playing and producing overseas, entering a vibrant and cosmopolitan scene. "San Francisco is small, but incredibly energetic: there's music everywhere, and always something new to discover," he explains.
It is right there that his independent label was born, Sam Sara Beats, with the aim of giving space to other emerging artists and spreading drum & bass sounds and future beats. His music is the fruit of experiences, encounters, and influences that span the ocean.
The return to Cagliari During the pandemic, Robbie didn't stop his creativity. In fact, he founded the collective Amen Events, bringing a new way of experiencing electronic music to the Sardinian capital, made of collaborations, freedom and experimentation.
Today Angover continues to produce, perform and build bridges between distant realities. His story shows that, even starting from an island, you can go far if you remain faithful to your own. musical identity.
