QPR boss makes big claim after thrilling win over play-off-chasing Hull City - Hull Live

QPR boss Julian Stephan hailed his side's display against Hull City as the best of the season, after twice coming from behind to win 3-2 at Loftus Road.

Joe Gelhardt fired the visitors ahead 17 minutes in before Ilias Chair equalised before the break, and Enis Destan put City back in front early in the second half - leaving Rangers on course for a fourth consecutive home defeat.

But they turned the game around, with Jimmy Dunne scoring just four minutes after Destan before Rumarn Burrell struck to clinch Rangers' first win in five matches, and condemn the Tigers to a second away defeat on the spin.

While City should have got something having scored twice on the road, Rangers could have had more from their 26 attempts on goal, with Ivor Pandur performing well in the Tigers' goal.

"This is a good feeling," the Frenchman said. "When you score three goals and when you play like this, it's a good feeling. I think we did our best offensive performance today since the start of the season.

"There was a lot of great movement offensively, many situations, many opportunities to score. I enjoyed the reaction each time, mentally, because we conceded the first one, and they shot only one time in the first half.

"We conceded at the beginning of the second half with their second shot, and mentally, immediately, we reacted very quickly. At the end, we had 26 shots, 3.5 XG we created, so the players deserve this win.

"Perhaps (we should have had more), but sometimes you have to congratulate the goalkeeper (Ivor Pandur) as well. Of course, we can be demanding and try to score more - the players tried to score more, but sometimes it was the goalkeeper, sometimes they saved as well with a good tackle.

"The main thing for me is that the players continue to stick to the plan. They continue with a good mindset, even when we have difficulties.

"It was difficult today when we concede the first goal. And when we conceded the second one, it was difficult. But mentally, it was a fantastic, fantastic reaction. So, I'm happy for the players."
