Limited Run Game and Retroware have opened physical pre-orders for Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit on Switch and PS5. The announcement marks the return of one of gaming's most chaotic icons, ready to unleash pure Nerd Rage in full retro glory.
Developed by Programancer, the game first launched digitally on October 23 across modern platforms. The game offers a side-scrolling action experience inspired by the hardest NES titles, blending nostalgic visuals with modern touches. The current-gen editions even include new live-action footage filmed exclusively for the game. This makes sure that each level feels like a playable episode of the Cinemassacre web series that inspired it.
Additionally, there are four special NES editions, developed in collaboration with Mega Cat Studios. These physical versions are designed to recreate the classic cartridge era. It is available in NES Gray ($69.99) and Limited Editions ($79.99) in Legendary Gold, Nerd Rage Red, and Super Mecha Baddie Blue. Each cartridge celebrates the game's roots and offers collectors a true slice of retro history.
