The Penn State Nittany Lions football team held open practice on Tuesday of its second bye week. Not only was the practice on Tuesday instead of Wednesday, but it was also a shortened practice, and the offense was inside Holuba Hall during the open portion, away from the media. Head coach Terry Smith spoke with the media after practice. You can hear his full comments on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel or embedded in this article.

Penn State fans are unhappy with the team's output on both sides of the football this season. After firing head coach James Franklin, there's still a desire for more change, especially at the coordinator level. Will Smith make any changes?
"The play callers are the play callers. We do have opinions from everyone else. That's kind of been one of my roles here this last week, just getting ideas of how everyone thinks of the offense and what we think we should be doing, and how everyone thinks of the defense and what we think we should be doing. There are subtle changes that are taking place. We're just going to continue to try to tweak here, tweak there. We're not trying to blow this thing up at the end of the day. Man, we've lost four games, and in any game, one play could make a difference. We're trying to close the gap for that one play difference."
The team is off this week, but the Penn State staff still plans to recruit. What's the reasoning behind that for a staff who is unsure if they will be here in January? What can they even say to prospects? Smith addressed that as well, which you can check out in the video.
