An Auburn senior from Huntsville has a new title: Miss Homecoming.

Gov. Kay Ivey and Auburn President Christopher B. Roberts presented the title to Mallory Holland during halftime at Saturday's game against South Alabama. Other candidates were Abby Grace Stevens of Chicago, Ashley May of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Julia Wright of Hoover and Kaylee Laplante of Oxford.

Miss Homecoming is selected by student vote.

Holland is studying industrial and systems engineering and is involved with numerous campus organizations, including the Student Government Association, where she was the director of Auburn Rings. She also served as vice president of events for Alpha Gamma Delta and a Miss Auburn campaign manager.

Her campaign, "Home with Holland" focuses on helping Auburn students feel they belong, emphasizing three pillars - design, structure and community - to welcome students to the university.
