FARGO -- More than 190 athletes, ages 50 and older, are set to compete in the three-day North Dakota Senior Games beginning Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Hosted by the Fargo Park District, the various sports range from bean bags to a 5K road race. Registration to compete closed Aug. 1.
There is no charge for spectators of the events.
Wednesday's events: fitness challenge (4-6 p.m., Fargo Parks Sports Center, 6100 38th St. S.), Bean bag-doubles (4- p.m., FPSC) and a social (6-8 p.m., FPSC).
Thursday's events: golf (7 a.m., Rose Creek Golf Course), track and field (8 a.m., location TBA), power walk (8:30 a.m., location TBA), pickleball-mixed doubles (8 a.m., FPSC), table tennis (1 p.m., Cornerstone Bank Arena, 4404 23rd Ave. S.)
Friday's events: 5K road race (8 a.m., Lindenwood Park main shelter), pickleball-doubles (8 a.m. FPSC), bowling (time TBA, West Acres Bowl), swimming (1 p.m., Hulbert Aquatic Center).
