Philadelphia Eagles fans were booing in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears in the Black Friday game, and rightfully so. I've said many times that I don't love it when fans boo, but when the product on the field is as poor as it was on Friday, it's what's going to happen in a big market like Philadelphia.
For some players on the roster, it might be something they weren't expecting, as the team is still 8-4 and just won a Super Bowl a year ago, but others certainly seem to understand why. According to Jordan Davis, one of the better defensive players on the Eagles' defense, he believes their Friday performance was embarrassing.
"That was a poor product that we put on the field," Davis said, per The Athletic.
When speaking about why fans were booing, Davis didn't have any problem with it. He said that they're going to let you know when they think something is wrong, and it's almost unfair to suggest that nothing was wrong, as it was evident from top to bottom that something needed to change in that game, but the Eagles failed to do so to ensure a win.
"It's Philly," Davis said. "They're going to tell you what they want to hear, and what they want to see, and what they expect of us. A lot of players can either shy away from that or they can embrace it and get better. That really just falls on the individual. Me personally, I hear those and they just want, they expect better of us and we have to do that. There's no excuses. I'm not gonna sit here and mope around and be like, 'Woe is me.' We just have to get fixed. We have to get the issues fixed and next week, we get a chance to get it fixed, so we'll do that."
Moving forward, these boos will only intensify if the Eagles don't do what they have to do as a whole.
Games won't get much easier as they'll take on the Los Angeles Chargers next weekend, but there's still reason to believe that Philadelphia can be in a good spot if it calms down and does what it has to do.
