LSU football senior wide receiver CJ Daniels is expected to enter the transfer portal, he confirmed on Instagram Tuesday.
Daniels had 42 receptions for 480 yards this past season after transferring to LSU last offseason from Liberty. He had 55 catches for 1,067 yards in his final year with the Flames.
LSU coach Brian Kelly said on Nov. 25 that Daniels would return to Baton Rouge for the 2025 season. Daniels also confirmed to the media that he'd be returning to LSU next year.
"Right now, I'm very firm on coming back. I think it would be best for me," Daniels said last Tuesday. "Just improving my draft stock and just getting to where I want to be. I think it would definitely be a smart decision."
Daniels is the third Tiger expected to enter the transfer portal, joining redshirt freshman quarterback Rickie Collins and redshirt sophomore wide receiver Landon Ibieta. But, unlike Ibieta and Collins, Daniels is the first LSU starter from this season to set his sights on transferring.
Even without Ibieta and Daniels, LSU is on track to bring back multiple wide receivers from this year's team, including redshirt sophomore Aaron Anderson, redshirt junior Chris Hilton, redshirt freshman Kyle Parker, junior Zavion Thomas, redshirt freshman Shelton Sampson, and freshmen Kylan Billiot and Jelani Watkins.
The Tigers also have three wideouts committed from their 2025 recruiting class in four-star recruits Derek Meadows, TaRon Francis and Phillip Wright.
