LG has announced plans to unveil its new "AI Cabin Platform" at CES 2026, scheduled for January 6-9 in Las Vegas. The new automotive solution integrates generative artificial intelligence into vehicle infotainment systems and is powered by Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon® Cockpit™ Elite.
According to the company, the platform will be displayed at a private showcase during the event, demonstrating a move toward what LG terms the "AI-defined vehicle" (AIDV).
The AI Cabin Platform utilizes various generative AI models, including Vision Language Models (VLMs), Large Language Models (LLMs), and image generation technologies. These are designed to run directly on the vehicle's high-performance computing (HPC) system.
By leveraging the processing power of the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite, all AI calculations occur locally within the vehicle rather than communicating with external servers. LG states that this on-device approach is intended to ensure stable, real-time operation while minimizing data privacy and security risks associated with cloud connectivity.
The platform is designed to analyze data from both internal and external cameras to assess the driving environment and the driver's condition. This allows for real-time assistance and interface customization.

At CES 2025, the companies presented a joint high-performance computing solution based on the Snapdragon Ride™ Flex System-on-Chip (SoC). That platform focused on consolidating in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) into a single control unit.
The new AI Cabin Platform builds on this foundation, utilizing Qualcomm's latest automotive hardware to support more advanced generative AI functions.
