The Boston Red Sox are among "approximately a dozen teams" to have interest in relief pitcher Devin Williams, according to The Athletic's Will Sammon.
No, seriously.
Williams, 31, had the worst season of his career in 2025, finishing with a 4.79 ERA and ultimately losing his role as closer after blowing four saves in his lone season with the New York Yankees.
Williams, despite all of that, has approximately a dozen teams expressing interest, according to Sammon. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds were among the other teams named, with contracts projections ranging between one-year and four-year deals, according to Salmon.
Boston reportedly isn't planning on making any significant additions to the bullpen, but that's the exact word that could be used to describe the veteran right-hander -- who has a career 2.45 ERA across 297 2/3 innings.
