A person was injured in a suspected road rage shooting in Irving on Friday morning, according to police.
Officers from the Irving Police Department went to the 1900 block of E. Union Bower, after receiving multiple reports of a gunshot victim, according to a news release posted by the department on Facebook.
Officers found a person who was suffering from a gunshot wound and performed "lifesaving measures," the release said.
"The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive," the release said.

The release said early investigations indicated the incident occurred during early morning traffic, and the person was driving a black Chevrolet Silverado when a white Ford Explorer began tailgating them.
Someone in the Ford Explorer pulled up next to the other driver's car, rolled down the passenger window and began shooting, according to the release.

"It's believed that the shooting took place between the Shady Grove and Union Bower exits," the release said.
In June, Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill that will make road rage shootings a first-degree felony starting Sept. 1.
