Troubling Angel Reese Fact Emerges Before Sky-Fever Clash

The Chicago Sky are looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they battle their rivals, the Indiana Fever, in a road game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Sky are coming off an 86-65 loss against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday, and will be hoping to get back in the win column on Saturday.

The Sky, however, will need to face off against Indiana with Angel Reese still sidelined. The two-time All-Star will miss her fifth consecutive game with a lingering back injury. Reese will join Courtney Vandersloot on the sidelines with the Sky guard ruled out for the season with a knee injury. Ariel Atkins and Hailey Van Lith, on the other hand, are questionable to play, while Michaela Onyenwere has been tagged as probable.

A troubling detail about Reese's absence has surfaced ahead of the Fever game. According to Polymarket Hoops, the Sky have lost by a margin of 22.3 points per game without Reese.

This does not bode well for Chicago's chances against the Fever on Saturday as the Sky look to improve on their 8-22 record. For what it's worth, Chicago's losing margin with Reese in the picture is -8.0.

It is important to note, though, that the Fever are dealing with their own injury crisis. Caitlin Clark is still out with a groin injury, and the Sky game will be her 10th straight contest on the shelf. Indiana lost both Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson to season-ending injuries in its 95-60 blowout loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday, which means that the Fever currently do not have a healthy true point guard for the Sky clash.
