A fitness fan is looking to set a new Guinness World Record after running 3km every day for the past six years.
Mridul Manoj, 23, started his huge streak aged 18 in 2019 and has run consistently for over 2,086 days since.
The keen runner, from Goole, East Yorkshire, initially wanted to complete a run every day for a year after he was inspired by a YouTuber who did the same thing.
Mridul has since run over 6,258km - which is over four times the length of the UK - through a global pandemic, on his travels, university exams, and even multiple injuries.
He has all of his runs logged on his mobile phone and is now about to send off the data to Guinness World Records with hopes of holding the most consecutive days to run 3km.
Mridul said: "I only wanted to do 365 days and here I am now over 2,000 days later.
"It's the guilt now which is keeping me from stopping, I don't think I ever want to break the streak.
"It would be incredible if I was to receive a world record."
Mridul started the challenge on November 20 2019 just a few months after starting university in Loughborough.
The then student traveled from Dubai to study international business and also build a career in cricket which he had been playing professionally back in his home country.
But after parting ways with his favorite sport shortly after starting he decided to pick up running to fuel his "restlessness."
He said: "I was sat around all day, I wasn't doing any exercise other than walking to lectures.
"I need to do something or else I would have gone mad so I decided to try running.
Mridul was inspired to run after watching a video of a US streak runner who completed 365 consecutive days.
He said: "After I did the first run I told myself I can do this for another 364 days.
"After reaching the year target it was a fantastic feeling I had a real sense of achievement.
"I decided to continue as I didn't want to lose the streak and momentum I had built."
Now for nearly six years, he's kept running through a global pandemic, on his travels back home to Dubai, through his university exams, and harsh weather.
He has ran through ankle sprains and strains and illnesses.
Mridul has told he tracked all of his runs on his smartphone through the Samsung Health App - and he is now preparing to send all of the evidence off to Guinness World Records.
He hopes to hold the record for having run the most consecutive days to run 3km.
There is no previous world record set.
The runner said: "I'm in the final stages of the application.
"Once I send it off I will have to wait for 12 weeks before I hear back from them.
"I would just be a dream come true if I was awarded the world record."
Some of Mridul's running achievements include a sub-20-minute 5km and completed one half marathon.
He has also been through three pairs of running shoes.
Mridul also hopes his story will inspire others to take up consistent practices of their own, and to "prove to themselves that discipline beats motivation".
He said: "I have grown so much since I began running.
"It has become mediation to me and very positive on my mental health.
"I also feel a lot fitter and healthier.
"My legs have gone numb to the pain as I have run every day for such a long time.
"It has given me something to be proud about whilst I'm going through the motions of life."
