HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A family was displaced following a fire at an apartment building in Hartford's Clay Arsenal neighborhood on Saturday morning.
Firefighters responded to the multi-unit, high-rise complex at 1630 Main Street after reports of smoke in the building.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a working fire on the fifth floor, which had been partially contained by the building's sprinkler system.
A second alarm was sounded to bring in additional resources, given the size of the building.
Firefighters worked quickly to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and brought the incident under control.
The fire was contained to a single apartment, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal's Office.
In response to the incident, a CT Transit bus was brought to the scene to provide temporary shelter for the affected resident.
The building was occupied at the time of the fire, and the Special Services Unit is coordinating with the American Red Cross to assist the displaced family, which consists of two adults.
