Polic investigate relationship between student and female teacher: University Heights police blotter

At 12:55 p.m. Dec. 10, the UHPD was contacted by another jurisdiction in regards to a possible inappropriate relationship between a juvenile student and her 44-year-old female teacher, who both reside in University Heights.

At 12:10 a.m. Dec. 9, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation.

The car's passenger was identified as a 37-year-old Cleveland resident who was found to be wanted on a Westlake police warrant for probation violation.

The man was arrested and turned over to Westlake officers.

Sex offense: Warrensville Center Road

At 12:55 p.m. Dec. 9, county Children and Family Services employees went to the Univeristy Heights police station lobby to report an alleged sexual offense involving a minor.

At 4:25 p.m. Dec. 9, a juvenile experiencing psychiatric troubles was brought to the police station.

The University Heights Fire Department was called and the juvenile was voluntarily transported for further evaluation at a local hospital.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 9:20 a.m. Dec. 10, police were called to Target, 14070 Cedar Road, where store loss prevention personnel had detained for misdemeanor shoplifting a 30-year-old Cleveland man.

Police cited the man for theft, fingerprinted him, and released him.

Assist fire department: Ashurst Road

At 7:05 p.m. Dec. 10, police responded to a home in the 2300 block of Ashurst Road on a report of an attempted suicide.

The 13-year-old subject received medical attention on scene and was transported to Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital.

Traffic offenses: Washington Boulevard

At 10:30 p.m. Dec. 10, officers stopped a vehicle after observing its driver commit multiple traffic violations.

The driver, a Cleveland Heights woman, 46, was found to be the subject of an outstanding UHPD traffic warrant. The warrant was resolved at the scene. She was, however, cited for the new violations before being released.

Receiving stolen property: Washington Boulevard

At 2:25 p.m. Dec. 10, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that, it was suspected, had been stolen. Additionally, the car's driver was wanted on a warrant.

Ohio State Highway patrol troopers assisted UHPD officers in arresting the driver and took the vehicle into their custody.

The UHPD cited the driver, a Cleveland man, 44, for driving under suspension.

Disturbance: Warrensville Center Road

At 7:15 p.m. Dec. 11, officers responded to the UHPD parking lot for a reported disturbance involving a man and woman taking part in a custody exchange.

The man, 37, of University Heights, was found to be in violation of a no-contact court order.

Police gathered information for a report to be forwarded to Shaker Heights Municpal Court.

Assault: Cedar Road

At 1:25 p.m. Dec. 12, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 14300 block of Cedar Road on a report of an assault on a 26-year-old University Heights man by a 22-year-old University Heights woman.

Police took a report for further investigation and potential charges.
