Sky flash sale offers £1 bonus with TV and sport bundle - but it ends soon | Bristol Live

Sky Sports has rolled out a flash sale as it dishes out a bonus add-on for £1, but it's ending soon. The firm has just begun offering its Essential TV, Sky Sports and UHD package for £36 per month - equal to £1.20 per day.

Usually, Sky's Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle comes in at £35, but for less than a week, new customers can bag the Ultra HD add-on for an extra £1. This marks a £120 discount from the usual £41 per month rate and offers more than 100 channels with full Sky Sports access including Premier League, Formula 1, cricket, and NFL.

There's also select channels that are four times clearer than Full HD, as well as free Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions at no extra cost. However, time is running out to claim the deal before it expires at 11.59pm on Thursday, October 30.

Sky's flash sale rivals Virgin Media's latest TV refresh, which saw the brand unveil new TV and broadband bundles including its £59.99 Sport bundle. While more pricey than Sky, it also comes with 362Mbps fibre broadband along with 200 TV channels - including eight from Sky Sports - plus Netflix Standard with Ads.

But those sticking with Sky can also customise their package with further add-ons like Sky Cinema (£10) and TNT Sports (£25). To secure the discounted Sky Sports package, customers must commit to a 24-month contract to Sky Stream, the provider's latest gadget that works over WiFi rather than a traditional satellite dish or aerial.

One thing to keep in mind when committing to a contract is that Sky says its prices 'may change' during the 24-month term. Earlier this year, Sky increased its TV and broadband prices by 6.2%, and while there's no confirmation yet, we could expect a similar change in April 2026.

Over at rival brand EE, customers are set to face higher bill hikes, with packages such as EE Sport with Full Fibre 74 (£44.99) set to rise by £6 each year. But Sky has won over customers with its sport coverage, racking up plenty of positive reviews on Trustpilot.

One five-star review says: "Wonderful presentation, commentary and punditry on football and cricket. Sport is dynamic and so Sky Sports embraces changes in its package to reflect what's happening. The sporting fixtures shown include a high proportion of the great contests."

Another said: "I don't usually post reviews but big shout out to Sky Sports+, the new sports channel. Brilliant and for once Sky in line with other sports platforms. I love it."

Not everyone is as enthusiastic about Sky's coverage, as this customer said: "I pay a lot of money to watch Sky Sports and all they are interested in is cutting to adverts at the earliest opportunity and cutting off the commentators."

While this happy customer says: "Sky Sports is really good and reliable, its football reviews and news are so good. Sky Sports on top."
