Nonprofits across the region are gearing up for the return of Give More 24!, which was once Southwest Washington's biggest day of giving.
The 24-hour fundraising campaign, meant to bolster support for local nonprofit groups and encourage community philanthropy, will return after a two-year hiatus Sept. 25.
The Greater Vancouver Chamber is leading the campaign's revival, which invites community members, businesses and donors to give to local causes across Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania and Wahkiakum counties through the collaborative digital platform GiveMore24.org. Early giving officially opened Sept. 9, with $175,067 raised as of Tuesday.
"The revival was inspired by the strong voices of local nonprofits and donors who wanted to see this event return to Southwest Washington," Greater Vancouver Chamber Chief Operating Officer Janet Kenefsky said. "They told us that Give More 24! provided not just funding but also visibility, momentum and a sense of community pride."
