5 Vikings to watch against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16

The Minnesota Vikings are gearing up for a Pacific Northwest matchup with the Seattle Seahawks before they finish their schedule with two tough divisional opponents. Against the Seahawks, Minnesota will have to avoid a trap game while also keeping the momentum going that they have gathered over the past couple of weeks.

The best way for them to keep momentum is by having their playmakers showout the way we all know they can.

On offense, T.J. Hockenson has had a quiet few weeks since his big week against the Bears in Week 12. Players like Andrew Van Ginkel have also had a few quiet weeks on defense. This could be the game they emerge and remind the Packers and Lions what awaits them over the next couple of weeks.

Byron Murphy Jr.

The Vikings may want to lean on Byron Murphy Jr.'s familiarity with the Seahawks and playing in Seattle from his time as an Arizona Cardinal. Murphy Jr. had a Pro Bowl-worthy year in 2024, and a strong performance against the Seahawks and their passing attack could get him to the first one of his career.

Jonathan Greenard

Jonathan Greenard is having a career year for the Minnesota Vikings and is within striking distance of the NFL sack title. Going against Geno Smith, who may have limited pocket mobility and an offensive line that can be overwhelmed, could be perfect for Greenard. Look for him to be a big impact against the Seahawks and Geno Smith.

Andrew Van Ginkel

Andrew Van Ginkel remains steadfast in his impact on the Vikings' defense and season. He nearly had another defensive touchdown last week, but it didn't materialize. Andrew Van Ginkel is, due to a strong performance, maybe a sack or an interception, and it looks like he is bound to be making an impact one way or another.

Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones is 21 yards away from his first 1,000-yard rushing season since 2022 with the Packers. Jones has scored in two straight games and could make it three against the Seahawks. He has become the support beam of the offense and is now poised to carry that role into the postseason.

T.J. Hockenson

T.J. Hockenson has become a safety valve option for Sam Darnold, and it has gotten him out of pinches. Darnold has had fewer turnovers since his return,n and having that safety net gives the offense more possibilities. Hockenson has yet to score a touchdown this year so what better time than now to change that before the final two games of the year.
