The Garmin beta version 15.05 has arrived for two smartwatch models. This release brings new features linked to Morning Report, Evening Report and app notifications. Plus, the update for the latest Forerunner smartwatches also tackles a bug which was causing the battery to drain faster than expected.
Garmin has begun a new beta testing cycle for the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches. Beta version 15.05 arrives around a month after the latest stable update, version 12.70, which brought features like bedtime recommendation, shown in Evening Report, Track Run daily suggested workouts and a calculator app.
Now, with the beta version 15.05 release, users of the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches gain the ability to control notifications for each app individually. The Morning Report and Evening Report have been added to the notification center, and you can now get tone or vibration notifications when your Evening Report is generated. Plus, users can exit a smart notification by placing their palm over the screen.
This Forerunner update improves the 'time to race day' countdown shown in the race glance, and the lag when selecting an activity has been reduced. Another enhancement is automatically exiting sleep mode when an activity is completed near the end of a sleep window. On top of this, there are bug fixes for issues linked to voice commands when playing music, and second races showing in place of primary races. Garmin has also addressed a problem which could lead to faster than expected battery drain.
