Another edition of the Future Leaders training programme launched - The Malta Independent

The PN, together with AŻAD, launched another edition of the Future Leaders training and formation programme for young people, with the aim of preparing a new group of aspiring young politicians seeking a career in politics within the PN.

The PN said that "the launch took place during a meeting for members of the PN Youth sections, Moviment Żgħażagħ Partit Nazzjonalista (MŻPN) and Team Start PN, that was addressed, among others, by Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista Alex Borg. The meeting was held at the party's headquarters."

"In his speech, the Leader of the PN Alex Borg announced that, as he had promised in his campaign, he will launch a Youth Think Tank as a permanent platform for young people to contribute directly both to the PN's vision and to the shaping of its policy. He said that the country belongs to young people and as a youth himself he firmly believes in programmes such as these which provide tomorrow's leaders with the skills and opportunities to grow. For the launch of this programme, among those present were the Secretary General of the PN Charles Bonello and the Chief Executive of AŻAD Roderick Agius, who also addressed those in attendance."

"This year's edition of Future Leaders - aimed at young people aged between 14 and 25 - will be spread over three phases: A three-day practical seminar between 14 and 16 November 2025, another three-day practical seminar between 6 and 8 March 2026, and a 40-hour practical placement in one of the departments or branches of the PN."

"During the first seminar, participants will receive training sessions on how to present themselves effectively in public, how to work as a team and different leadership styles, how to prepare and deliver a speech, how to use social media effectively and identify misinformation, how to write articles and blog posts, television and radio, the history of political parties in Malta, the European Union and foreign policy, and local councils. The second seminar will cover topics such as interpreting public opinion surveys, contributing to shaping the environmental agenda, the economy of tomorrow, Gozo, civil society and activism, trade unionism, and the human values and basic principles of the PN."

In the third phase, participants will have the opportunity to carry out 40 hours of work within one of the departments or branches of the PN, including traditional or digital media, local committees, the Office of the Party Leader or the Secretary General, the Organisational Executive Secretary or the International Secretary, ELCOM, the Customer Care department, the INFORMA research library, AŻAD itself, or through home visits with candidates, the PN said.

Throughout this training, participants will be assigned a mentor.
