An "enchanting" garden in Wiltshire, described as "a living work of art", has been named among the most scenic winter walks in the UK.
As the weather starts to get colder, it can be tempting to stay indoors, wrapped up in a blanket, with a hot drink.
But it's the winter months that add that touch of "magic" to the already picturesque landscapes scattered across the UK, making it the best time of year to head out for a walk.
CEWE added: "Frosted trees, snow-covered hills, and icy lochs transform familiar landscapes into breathtaking scenes.
"As well as being impressive to look at, these vistas provide the perfect setting for a winter stroll and a captivating backdrop for stunning photos."
With this in mind, the experts at CEWE used Google reviews, ratings, and winter-related keywords to reveal the most scenic winter walks in the UK.
Stourhead is a 2,650-acre landscape garden that first opened back in the 1740s and has been described as "a living work of art".
The National Trust explains: "The world-famous landscape garden has at its centrepiece a magnificent lake reflecting classical temples, mystical grottoes, and rare and exotic trees, and offers a day of fresh air and discovery.
"Uncover the fascinating history of Stourhead house with an Italian 'Grand Tour' adventure and enjoy the unique Regency library, Chippendale furniture and inspirational paintings.
"The Palladian house is set amid 'picnic perfect' lawns and extensive parkland.
"Explore the 1,072 hectare (2,650 acre) Stourhead estate where chalk downs, ancient woods and farmland are managed for wildlife."
But it's winter when Stourhead really comes into its own, according to CEWE, becoming an "enchanting" place to visit.
The experts at CEWE add: "During the festive season, illuminated trails sparkle with lights, creating a magical atmosphere."
Christmas at Stourhead is back in 2025, with a new reimagined lights trail.
The National Trust said: "Immerse yourself in a new, reimagined trail at Stourhead as the garden is illuminated by millions of sparkling festive lights and comes alive with sound of festive cheer.
"You will be able to feel the magic of Christmas as you wander through this stunning setting with your friends and family."
The new Christmas lights trail will feature a "mesmerizing" Star Show, a "shimmering" Sea of Light, and "spectacular" lasers cutting through the night sky.
These new additions join returning favourites, including the twinkling tunnel of light and the display of colour-changing reflections stretching across the lake.
There will also be festive treats available to enjoy from food and beverage stalls.
Christmas at Stourhead 2025 will run from November 28 to December 31.
Stourhead also comes highly recommended by visitors, boasting a near-perfect 4.5 (out of 5) rating on Tripadvisor from 2,853 reviews.
