Siddiqui has left JPMorgan after nearly 13 years and has gone to the IMF in Washington. He announced this on LinkedIn and didn't immediately respond to our request to comment.

Siddiqui was promoted to MD at JPMorgan in 2021. His exit comes after Mike Bell, another JPMorgan macro strategist, said he was let go in June. It also comes after Marko Kolanovic, a veteran JPMorgan managing director and chief global markets strategist, was let go last year.

The FCA says Siddiqui's last day at JPMorgan was October 5th. It's unusual to leave a banking job in the fourth quarter with bonuses due in January, particularly for the IMF which is not known for its buyouts. Siddiqui isn't the first person to join the fund though: Thanos Vamvakidis, Bank of America's London-based global head of G10 FX strategy also quit for the IMF in June.
