COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Sheriff Leon Lott announced that the Richland County Sheriff's Department (RSCD) is no longer associated with the non-profit organization K9 Godmothers.
RCSD states that the organization "does not represent nor raise funds for our K9s."
"We greatly appreciate the community's support of the RCSD K9 teams. So, moving forward, anyone wishing to be a kennel sponsor or support RCSD K9s should direct all donations to the RCSD Sheriff's Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization," the department said in a post.
The department says all official information concerning RCSD K9s and deputies will be shared on their official social media sites, and no other organization represents the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
