Americans are getting ready to go to the polls but how does the US population vote and what are the issues and states to watch out for this time round? Jo Cockerell explains.
Lancaster residents will not be getting a new park.
Voters in Lancaster decided not to approve the Town Board's $7.5 million proposal to create more green space in town by a measure of 53% to 46%, according to unofficial results from the Erie County Board of Elections.
Had the proposal been approved, property owners were likely to see a tax increase in 2026. The town planned to finance the entire project by taking out bonds, Supervisor Robert Leary said.
The location of the park had yet to be determined, but town officials were looking at locations in southern Lancaster, where the most new residential development has occurred.
