New Fears Eve Secures National Release With Cineverse

A holiday horror movie filmed in Owensboro has landed a major national distribution deal, and it is gearing up for its biggest release yet. New Fears Eve, the award-winning slasher-horror comedy from Blood Moon Pictures, will officially hit streaming platforms this winter.

Writer, director, and producer PJ Starks shared that the film has been picked up by Cineverse, the powerhouse distributor behind the massively popular Terrifier franchise and the new Toxic Avenger remake starring Kevin Bacon and Elijah Wood. Cineverse is also releasing a remake of the cult classic Silent Night, Deadly Night this December, making New Fears Eve part of their high-profile holiday lineup.

The cast includes Dave Sheridan, who horror fans know as Special Officer Doofy from Scary Movie. Sheridan is currently reprising that iconic role for Scary Movie 6, which is headed to theaters next year. The film is also produced by Jeffrey Reddick, a Kentucky native and creator of the blockbuster Final Destination franchise. Reddick recently wrapped a successful theatrical run for the latest installment and even gave New Fears Eve a shout-out during its Hollywood red-carpet premiere.

Landing Cineverse puts New Fears Eve in front of a massive audience and marks the largest release in Blood Moon Pictures' history. For the local indie film community, it is a major win and a proud moment for Owensboro. Keep an eye on your favorite streaming platforms beginning Tuesday, December 16, 2025, to watch a Kentucky-made horror comedy break into the national spotlight.
