Count Aaron Rodgers as another person stunned by what he was hearing.
He was watching the Green Bay Packers-Seattle Seahawks "Sunday Night Football" game while flying back to New Jersey after his New York Jets' win over the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier in the day.
"What I couldn't believe ... how many freakin' Packer fans were there," Rodgers said during his Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show." "That never happened back in the day. I heard a 'Go Pack Go' chant in like the second quarter."
Yes, Packers fans indeed took over Lumen Field early and often throughout Green Bay's 30-13 win over the Seahawks.
"What in the hell is going on?" Rodgers thought to himself as the game unfolded. "That's the wildest thing ever, and the Packers were on offense."
The Seattle fan base is famously known as 12th Man for how loud they can get during a home game. But on Sunday night, Packers fans overtook Lumen Field as their team continued to build a lead.
"It sounded like it was 60-40 Seattle fans, maybe, or 70-30, but even that would be wild for that stadium," Rodgers said. "Never in all the years we played there did we ever have any presence that was remotely close to that."
It was the Packers' first win in Seattle since 2008. As the starting quarterback for the Packers, Rodgers went 1-4 against the Seahawks at Lumen Field.
During those years, it would be unheard of for a visiting team's fans to come into Seattle and drown out the home fans. But that's what Packers fans did.
"Shoutout to the Seattle fans for selling their tickets to Packers fans," Rodgers said. "Obviously, Packer fans don't need a reason to show up, they're everywhere."
Packers fans showed up for a team that is now one victory from a playoff berth.
"That was a good win for the G (green) and G (gold)," Rodgers said.
