The Erie School District is almost finished with its move from its current administrative building to its new one on Sassafras Street.
Just before Thanksgiving, the school district moved over its child accounting, special education, business, HR and payroll offices to their new building at 1910 Sassafras Street.
They're still in the unpacking process but reception to the new building has been positive from both staff and parents seeking access.
"We're about a week out from the top floor being finished, so we'll be having another round of moves. We've got furniture being installed Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then our guys are following right on their heels so we can move completely out of the old building," said Neal Brokman, assistant superintendent of operations, Erie School District.
The district's former administrative building was sold last year and will be used for long-term housing to support people facing homelessness.
