The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.
Skye & Raasay (as at 08:49)
Widespread light covering of snow and hail showers throughout the night with heavier deposits on higher ground. Gritters currently treating Primary and Secondary Routes.
Ross & Cromarty East (as at 08:41)
Negative road surface temperatures and air temperatures with a dusting of snow across most of the routes. All routes being treated as resources allow. No other known issues to report.
Sutherland (as at 08:31)
All areas are affected by snow cover with up to 100mm on higher routes. All routes currently being bladed and treated as necessary in order of priority. Winter treatment will be ongoing throughout the day. No known issues.
Caithness (as at 08:04)
A dusting of snow across most routes. All routes being treated as resources allow. No other known issues to report.
Lochaber (as at 08:02)
A covering of snow out west with falling snow. The rest of the network has a frost on it and caution is advised when travelling.
Nairn (as at 06:47)
Snow across the network. Drivers advised to take care when driving on higher routes. All routes being treated as well as footways.
Badenoch & Strathspey (as at 06:40)
Extreme caution on all routes is required due to snow and ice. Due to resources A939 Dava Route and Bridge of Brown will be treated late. Footways are being treated too.
Ward 5 Ross and Cromarty (as at 06:31)
All routes have a covering of snow . Extreme caution is needed on all routes due to snow and ice. Due to resources A890 Auchtertyre, Kyle, Plockton and Achmore runs will be completed later this morning, No known overnight issues.
Inverness (as at 06:26)
Snow and ice across the network this morning. Treating all routes and footpaths. No known issues.
