The Saskatchewan Roughriders, universally hated by Blue Bomber fans, invaded the Manitoba capital this week and will leave with the top prize in Canadian football.
A 25-17 win over the Montreal Alouettes gave the Riders just the fifth title in franchise history at a stadium in which they're normally public enemy No. 1.
"Man, we done changed the colours out here," Saskatchewan defensive back Marcus Sayles said as teammates picked up handfuls of green-and-white confetti and tossed them into the air.
You could say the former Blue Bomber's fumble recovery with three minutes to go changed the game.
The Alouettes were driving for a touchdown and potential two-point convert that would have tied the game, quarterback Shea Patterson sent in to power the ball over the goal line.
