George Fowler will use his FA Cup memories to help fire up Maidstone for this season's competition.
The Stones' extraordinary run to the fifth round two years ago will never be forgotten by players or fans.
Fowler, Sam Corne and Riley Court are the only survivors from the squad who beat three Football League clubs en route to the last 16, including a 2-1 success at Championship side Ipswich.
The trio are set to be involved when Maidstone meet Folkestone in the second qualifying round at Chatham tonight (8pm).
And Fowler knows from experience the fun non-league clubs can have in the FA Cup if they get on a run.
"It's one of my fondest memories in football," said Fowler.
"And it will be something that myself, Corney and Riley will be emphasising to the group of how well we did, where it can take you and what an experience it was for the club as a whole, the community and the fans.
"That's why it's important that we make sure we get a result and go through to the next round on Friday.
"The highlights on YouTube tend to pop up for Ipswich, which I find myself watching.
"I even watched almost the whole game at one point not too long ago.
"They're incredible memories and that I'll be using for fuel on Friday, absolutely."
Maidstone turn their attention to the FA Cup after a disappointing week in National League South.
A 3-3 draw at Worthing was followed by 3-0 defeats against Weston and Horsham.
Fowler is keen to put things right against Folkestone.
"A team of our standards and the way the gaffer (George Elokobi) lines us up shouldn't be conceding nine goals in three games," said Fowler.
"That's never us.
"As a defender, it's extra frustrating but from back to front, it's us as a whole.
"It's important that we bounce back.
"We've got a good distraction on Friday away from the league in the FA Cup, which we know well, and it's a local derby.
"It's a good opportunity to bounce back and one we must take.
"We'll do our due diligence on Folkestone and make sure that we're organised.
"The gaffer and Craig (Fagan, assistant manager) always do loads of work and set us up, so there's never any excuses.
"It just comes down to us as players on the pitch. We're the ones that can impact it and it'll be the same thing on Friday."
The match takes place on a neutral ground while Folkestone continue work on a 3G pitch at Cheriton Road.
Chatham is just up the road for Stones fans and they're sure to be well backed.
"It's not like Folkestone are going to have a massive home crowd behind them, which I guess they might have done if it had been at their place," said Fowler.
"But, saying that, I'd expect a number of fans from both sides, with it being fairly close, especially for us.
"No doubt the fans will be right behind us again, as they always are.
"We want to give the fans something to cheer about and we haven't done that the last couple of games.
"Those that came all the way to Weston, my heart goes out to them because they want to come and celebrate a win and they don't even get a goal to celebrate.
"But they'll be there on Friday and it's up to us as players to give them something to celebrate."
