3 people injured in Falmouth house fire

Three people, including two firefighters, were taken to the hospital following a fire that broke out Saturday night in East Falmouth, Massachusetts.

Falmouth Fire and Rescue says they received a call for a structure fire on Plum Hollow Road around 8 p.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and fire.

The heaviest fire was in the back of the home, according to fire officials, and flames were quickly knocked down.

All occupants, including the family dogs, made it out of the house. One person was taken to Falmouth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said. Two firefighters were also transported for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The damage from the fire was extensive.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the blaze, which remains under investigation.
