The Lincoln men's basketball team will look to bounce back from its first home loss of the season today when it hosts the Spurgeon Knights.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Jason Gym.
Lincoln (6-3) is unbeaten outside of Great Lakes Valley Conference play this season. The Blue Tigers won their first five games against Wayne State (55-52), Kentucky Wesleyan (72-69), Harris-Stowe State (89-47), Auburn-Montgomery (65-50) and Clarke (90-52) but has dropped three of its first four conference games, the last a 71-61 defeat Saturday against Upper Iowa.
Spurgeon (9-2), an NCCAA Division II team out of Kansas City, enters on a two-game win streak and winners of eight of its past nine games.
The Knights bring a high-powered offense into today's game, scoring 105.3 points per game. Spurgeon has scored 100-plus points in all nine of its wins.
Six different players average double figures for the Knights, led by junior guard Zion Bourgeois (6-foot-1) at 15.0 per game.
Junior wing Joseph Allen (6-4) is next at 14.3 per game, graduate guard Jairus Allen (6-2) has added 12.7 while leading the team in rebounding at 8.3 per contest, sophomore forward Jack Chamberlin (6-6) has scored 12.1 per game, senior guard Drew Middleton (6-1) has poured in 11.2 points and sophomore guard Michael Berry (6-3) has chipped in 10.7 points per game.
Today will be the second-ever matchup between the two sides, as Lincoln won 109-77 last season at Jason Gym.
