CHSRA Issues Fresno Station Early Works IFB

FRESNO, Calif. - The California High-Speed Rail Authority has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure a construction contract.

The construction contract is for Fresno Station Early Works, says the Authority. The IFB seeks competitive bids for the construction phase of a Design-Bid-Build project. The project will restore the historic Fresno Depot and includes utility relocations and connections, development of park and plaza space, multimodal parking at the station, ADA improvements, and demolition. Additionally, it includes EV charging at the future station downtown H and G Street entrances.

The contract will last two years and has an estimated construction cost of $50,000,000. Bids are due by February 9, 2026 at noon PST. After, there will be a contract award and notice to proceed by March 2026.

On Thursday, December 18, the Authority says it will have representatives at the pre-bid conference and site inspection/job walk. This provides a chance to learn more about the procurement's requirements. The Pre-Bid will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and will be held both in person and virtually. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., there will be an in person job walk. After lunch, the Authority will hold a Small Business Workshop, both in person and virtually, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Small Business Workshop seeks to give more information on the program overview, small business compliance, and information on certifications that count toward the Authority's own small business goals.
