I'm A Celebrity's Alex Scott issues six-word message after quickly ditching Australia - Manchester Evening News

Alex Scott has issued a six-word update with fans after she confirmed she was leaving Australia hastily following her I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here exit.

The former footballer was the first celebrity to be voted off the ITV reality show as the eliminations began last Friday (November 28)., after it was announced that she had received the fewest votes and would be heading home.

During her two weeks in the camp, Alex skydived from 12,000 feet and even waded through offal as part of the show's challenges. And while eliminated contestants normally remain at a hotel in Australia until the final, Alex revealed upon her exit that she wanted to get back to the UK and be a "rock" for her partner Jess Glynne.

"I want to be there for the wrap party but I need to get home straight away," she told the Mirror. "She is my Jessica - I am going to go home and be her rock."

It came after Jess posted to Instagram to explain why she was not there to meet Alex at the end of the famous I'm A Celeb bridge as she left the jungle. "Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery," the singer wrote.

"It's been a really life-altering time for my family, and I've had to stay close to home. Alex would always want me to be where I'm needed most. I can't wait to have her back by my side."

It was then on Tuesday (December 2) that Alex revealed she and Jess had been reunited. Sharing a picture of their hands tightly gripped together, the sports presenter wrote on her Instagram Story: "[heart emoji] Homes is where the heart is."

She also took to her main Instagram grid and alongside a clip of her appearance on I'm A Celeb spin-off, Unpacked, Alex shared with her followers: "I had such a good time in the jungle, and I've come out with a heart full of lessons and love.

"My campmates and I shared moments that were genuinely special, and it still amazes me how much happens beyond that single hour you get to see each night. I just wish a little more of that magic had made it through.

"All I ever wanted was to step into something like this as my real self, no adapting, no performing, just me. I'm proud of that, and I'm proud of the people who held me up in there. It was a beautiful experience in every sense and thank you for all the love and support that you have shown me through this process."

She then rounded off her post: "Time to catch up on some sleep and be back with my Jessica and be her rock in a time when she needs me most."
