Is Micah Parsons Serious About This Playoff Take?

Micah Parsons played college at Penn State University so he knows all about the intensity and aggressiveness of the fan base of the Philadelphia Eagles.

It's why the best defensive player on the Dallas Cowboys defense has made it clear that no matter what happens in Week 16, the All-Pro will refuse to root for the Eagles at all.

Even if it could keep the playoff hopes alive for Dallas.

A win for the Eagles over the Washington Commanders on Sunday would keep the Cowboys' playoff hopes alive. To root for the Eagles in a game, though, is something that Parsons simply cannot do.

"Nah, at this point, it's (expletive) Philly, now," Parsons said. "Even if we got eliminated, like, I gotta crush Philly. (Expletive) them. I hate them now. I be seeing them talk so much on social (media)."

It's unclear what exactly the Eagles have done to make Parsons so angry at them. ... though we sense in part that he's talking about Philly fans. Since being drafted in 2021, Parsons, a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has helped Dallas win two division titles.

Yes, his home-state fans may be over the top at times, but that doesn't take away from what Dallas needs.

A win for Philadelphia would tie the team in that stretch.

Still, to essentially state that he would rather be eliminated than see the Eagles win a game at all is shocking for a veteran leader on the Cowboys.

Perhaps Parsons simply sees the writing on the wall even with an Eagles win and would rather get the offseason started. It's still unclear exactly why he would think this way with a playoff berth still alive for Dallas.
