Tastemakers at the Getty Library -- Nov. 23

Complemented by a conversation led by author John Birdsall, the debut of the Getty Center's new culinary event series is inspired by The Alice B. Toklas Cookbook. The evening showcases recipes from the book and how food has long offered a space for self-expression, celebration and community-building among queer and creative circles throughout history.

Ggiata Delicatessen Brentwood -- Now Open

Ggiata's largest dining room is now in Brentwood, complete with its signature lineup (including the beloved Spicy P and grilled chicken Caesar wrap), seasonal specials and breakfast (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

Irv's Burgers x Smash Kitchen -- Through Dec. 1

Glen Powell's organic condiment brand teams up with Irv's on a limited-edition Friendsgiving burger featuring Smash Kitchen's organic cranberry mayo. Between two butter-toasted sesame buns, a quarter-pound turkey patty pairs with melted cheddar, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, fried yams and slathering of Smash Kitchen's organic cranberry mayo.

East of Western: Close Ups of Charles Bukowski -- Through Dec. 20

Open now, Joan Ganny's exhibition of intimate photographs gives an up-close-and-personal look at the famed writer.
