The White Lotus Season 4 Location Confirmed By HBO Boss

The White Lotus Season 4 Location Confirmed By HBO Boss

The head of US broadcaster HBO Casey Bloys has addressed the widespread rumours about where the much-hyped fourth season of The White Lotus will be filmed.

After the first three runs of the award-winning series took viewers to luxury resorts in Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand, it was reported by Deadline earlier this month that the fourth would be set at a hotel in France.

Following this, season three's Parker Posey confirmed to E! News on the Emmys red carpet on Sunday night that White Lotus showrunner Mike White didn't attend this year's awards as he's currently scouting locations in France, "so that's where season four's gonna be".

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter after the Emmys, Casey Bloys remarked with a laugh: "If she said it, I will have to agree with her."

However, he insisted that specifics about the location, including what part of France the season will take place in, are yet to be decided.

"Beyond [the country], locations, anything like that, there's nothing official [to say]," he noted. "But Mike has got ideas that he's working on, and I think it's going to be great."

The TV exec added: "I don't even want to classify or categorise the thinking, so I'll just say he's narrowing it down."

Deadline's report suggested that the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat in the French Riviera was being eyed was a primary location, although no official decisions have been announced yet.

It's also worth pointing out that most seasons of The White Lotus have made use of multiple hotels for different parts of the shoot.

Meanwhile, fans have already begun suggesting French stars who could potentially make an appearance in the upcoming season.

The most recent season of The White Lotus scooped a hefty 23 nominations at this year's Emmys, including acting nods for cast members Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Natasha Rothwell, Sam Rockwell, Walton Goggins and the aforementioned Parker Posey.

On the night of the main Emmys ceremony, though, the show went home empty-handed, picking up just one award in a technical category for composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer in the Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music category for the third time.
