Pro wrestling's favorite comedic demon might have just set CM Punk on the path to gold -- with a cursed T-shirt.
In his latest vlog, Danhausen surprised CM Punk with a peculiar present in honor of Punk finally headlining "Monday Night Wrestling Mania."
Understandably, Punk seems apprehensive as the odd ceremony unfolds in a hotel room. Once Punk opens his eyes and sees the gift, he laughs and says, "I f***ing hate you."
I won't spoil what's actually on the shirt -- you'll have to watch the video for that. Let's just say it's exactly what you'd expect from the supposedly possessed prankster -- who then made a bold promise to Punk: "If you wear it live on television, you're going to win the world championship."
"I don't know. I feel like you're going to get in trouble if I wear this on TV," Punk replied.
"I don't think so. The world will love it," Danhausen insisted.
Punk's quip -- hinting that the shirt might get Danhausen in trouble -- raises questions about his AEW status. In June, Fightful Select reported that Danhausen's contract with AEW was up in July, barring time off added for injury. As many recall, AEW terminated CM Punk's contract in 2023 after another backstage incident led to boss Tony Khan fearing for his life.
Whether the long-absent star suffers any blowback for consorting with the enemy remains to be seen -- but his odd gift may have already paid off.
The scene was filmed during SummerSlam weekend, where CM Punk defeated Gunther to win the WWE World title, only to lose it moments later to Seth Rollins. However, Punk did not wear the shirt on television, which was part of Danhausen's "curse." If he ever does, another title reign could be in his future -- hopefully one that lasts longer than the time it takes to make a soft-boiled egg.
