We're standing on the threshold of a new year, closing the door on 2025 and welcoming 2026.

Across the globe, countries will ring in the New Year at different times, creating a rolling wave of celebrations as midnight arrives city by city. The first to welcome 2026 will be Auckland, with festivities continuing across continents until Las Vegas rounds off the night.

To capture the full experience, a special "watch live" stream will bring viewers into the heart of New Year's Eve celebrations around the world. Audiences can follow live coverage from major cities as they welcome the New Year with fireworks, music and street parties.

The celebrations will begin in the South Pacific, with Auckland lighting up at 10:45 GMT, followed by Sydney at 12:45 GMT. Asia will then take centre stage with Tokyo or Seoul at 14:45 GMT, Kuala Lumpur at 15:45 GMT, Bangkok at 16:45 GMT, and New Delhi at 17:15 GM.

South Asia and the Middle East will continue the global countdown, with Karachi celebrating at 18:45 GMT and Dubai following at 19:45 GMT. Viewers can also catch Nairobi at 20:45 GMT and Athens at 21:45 GMT, as the New Year spreads across Africa and Europe.

Western Europe will then light up, with Paris, Rome or Madrid marking the hour at 22:45 GMT. London will welcome 2026 at 23:45 GMT with its iconic fireworks display along the River Thames, centred on the London Eye. Scotland's capital will also celebrate, with Edinburgh's Hogmanay festivities lighting up the historic skyline around Edinburgh Castle.

As midnight continues to move west, viewers can enjoy Rio de Janeiro's beach celebrations at 02:45 GMT, followed by the famous Times Square ball drop in New York at 04:45 GMT.

Mexico City will mark the hour at 05:45 GMT, before Flagstaff, Arizona celebrates at 06:45 GMT. The global festivities will close with Las Vegas at 07:45 GMT, ending a 21-hour journey of celebrations around the world.
